Court Of Protection
Court Of ProtectionIf someone you care for becomes unable to look after themselves and they have never made either an Enduring or Lasting Power of Attorney, we can help you to manage their financial affairs. We can help you submit an application to the Court of Protection to be appointed as their Deputy. We specialise in working with the Office of the Public Guardian and the Court of Protection in this type of situation.

The Public Guardian is responsible for protecting people who lack capacity from being abused. The Public Guardian and the office which supports him, protects people who lack capacity by setting up and managing registers of Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney and by supervising deputies, receiving reports from deputies and attorneys about how they manage the affairs of people who lack capacity and also by working with the Court of Protection where there are concerns about deputies and attorneys appointed to manage the affairs of people who lack capacity.

We can guide you through the complex processes and procedures of both the Court of Protection and the Office of the Public Guardian. We can also help you with managing the person’s affairs in accordance with the Deputyship rules, including helping you to identify and apply for appropriate benefits and complete the annual deputyship account.
